Equine Assisted Wellbeing Sessions

Health, Wholeness & Happiness

Giddy-Up Ponies

Our Daughter loved horses from the time she could walk. We knew she was always going to be around horses and as predicted she has turned into a wonderful horse woman enjoying eventing, dressage and just hanging out with her equine friends. What we also found was all of our Foster kids were drawn to the horses lighting up with the biggest smiles when ever they could, always first out at the stables helping out with feeding and grooming them. We couldn’t keep them away.  Kids with trauma can be closed and bottle up feelings, we watched as they would relax and be more open when with the horses.

We decided to see if we could somehow blend our love of horses with helping kids with trauma or disability. That’s how we got going with GiddyUp-Ponies.

Emotional Strength

Equine Assisted Wellbeing Sessions help children process trauma, manage anxiety, and build emotional resilience. Interacting with horses provides a calming and supportive environment where children can express their feelings and develop healthy coping mechanisms.

Better Social Skills

Working with horses fosters communication, trust, and empathy. Children learn to understand and respond to non-verbal cues, enhancing their ability to form positive relationships and improve social interactions.

Boost in Self-Esteem

Successfully engaging with horses instills a sense of accomplishment and self-worth in children. These sessions help kids set and achieve goals, boosting their confidence and encouraging a more positive self-image.

Equine Assisted
Wellbeing Sessions

Equine Assisted Therapy enables individuals facing physical, cognitive, behavioural, or emotional challenges to discover resilience, healing, and self-reliance by harnessing the therapeutic power and profound connection with horses with an Equine Assisted Therapist facilitating the connection.

Equine Assisted Therapeutic Sessions take place outdoors, in the fresh air, while we watch, handle and play with the horses. As clients progress through sessions and learn more about horse behaviour they also learn more about themselves. And, through the genuine connection that they develop with the horses, they experience a sense of accomplishment, love and acceptance – boosting self-esteem and confidence. This results in improved psychological health and long-term skills to promote ongoing wellbeing.

The love, acceptance and awe that is generated as the relationship between client and horse develops becomes a driver for emotional and psychological healing in Equine Assisted Therapy (EAT).
